We are looking to take 100 school children from Palfrey Junior School to Drayton Manor Park & Zoo in the weeks prior to the summer holidays.
The trip will reward Year 6 pupils who have attended school activities at the Railway Club during the current school year. Through our partnership with the school, the children have helped to grow fresh produce for local pensioners at our Community Garden whilst learning about nature, horticulture and healthy eating.
Palfrey Junior School also enjoys free use of the 3G pitch at the Chris Nicholl Soccer Centre.
As we aim to celebrate the achievements of children from one of the most under-privileged wards in the borough, the trip has been costed at £3,000 for tickets and transport.
ISSA have met the first £1,000 of the cost and are appealing to Saddlers fans to help us reach the target by sponsoring a child at a cost of £20 in order for them to enjoy a childhood experience that might be otherwise unattainable.
We have already enjoyed a fantastic response from our social media channels and UpTheSaddlers.com, and feel confident that with your help we can get our fundraising over the line in record time!
Anyone donating will receive a handwritten thank you from the child they sponsored and a thank you letter from the headteacher of Palfrey Junior School.
